โรคต้อลมเกิดจากการสะสมของไขมัน โปรตีน หรือแคลเซียม หรือทั้งหมด ซึ่งจะมีลักษณะเป็นรอยนูนสีเหลืองขนาดเล็กบนเยื่อบุตา โดยส่วนใหญ่จะขึ้นบริเวณหัวตาของตาข้างใดข้างหนึ่งหรือทั้งสองข้าง  อาการของต้อลมได้แก่ รอยนูนสีเหลืองที่ตาขาว ตาแดง เจ็บตา ระคายเคือง ตาแห้ง น้ำตาไหลผิดปกติ และรู้สึกเหมือนมีสิ่งแปลกปลอมในตา การรักษาต้อลมทำได้ด้วยการใช้ยาหยอดตา ขี้ผึ้ง และในบางกรณีอาจต้องรักษ  2 วันที่ผ่านมา ผู้ป่วยโรคต้อลมและต้อเนื้อที่ยังเป็นไม่มาก ส่วนใหญ่มักไม่มีอาการใด ๆ เพียงแต่จะเห็นเป็นเนื้อเยื่อผิดปกติบริเวณเยื่อบุตาขาวเท่านั้น แต่หากมีการอักเสบหรือเป็นมากขึ้น ผู้ป่วยจะรู้สึกเจ็บตา เคืองต  อาการของต้อลมได้แก่ รอยนูนสีเหลืองที่ตาขาว ตาแดง เจ็บตา ระคายเคือง ตาแห้ง น้ำตาไหลผิดปกติ และรู้สึกเหมือนมีสิ่งแปลกปลอมในตา การรักษาต้อลมทำได้ด้วยการใช้ยาหยอดตา ขี้ผึ้ง และในบางกรณีอาจต้องรักษ  อาการระคายเคืองตาอยู่บ่อยครั้ง อาจมีเยื่อขาว ๆ ในตา หรือรู้สึกเหมือนมีเม็ดทรายอยู่ในตาตลอดเวลา อาจไม่ใช่เศษฝุ่นเข้าตาธรรมดา แต่อาจเกิดจาก โรคต้อลม หนึ่งในสี่โรคต้อที่สามารถพบได้บริเวณดวงตา
